My Neighbors

“Over the top.” That’s the best way to describe it. My neighbors have brought Halloween decorating to a whole new level. Life-sized monsters move, talk, shake, and turn in time to harrowing music which plays in the background.

I made the mistake of bringing my three-year-old and our dog when I walked around the block to take these photos. The dog went ballistic and Simeon freaked out. Angela insisted that I would be the one getting up at 3:00am if the little nipper awoke from a nightmare.

There’s probably a lot that cultural exegetes could say about this. At the very least it testifies to the fact that we all need to celebrate something, if not life, then death.

Just sit back and let these photos minister to your heart.
