On the heals of World Youth Day (WYD) in Brazil, Pope Francis is getting a great deal of attention. Most people seem to admire the new “franciscan” style of the Papacy, i.e. a blend of frugal manners, emphasis on mercy, and apparent approachability. Few, however, have taken the time to deal with Francis’ theological vision that seems to be inspiring his papacy. Leonardo De Chirico offers an interesting examination of this vision and observes its Marian trajectory.
