According to my dictionary, the idiom “uphill battle” is defined as “a struggle against very unfavorable circumstances.”

Some days, uphill battles make us more aware of the truth expressed in Zech 4:6, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.” Praise God.
