Sleep is sweet, especially when one is recovering from jetlag. Elton hit the pillow last night at 8:00pm and awoke 12 hours later.
Angela brought Elton and the boys to College Church this morning. Upon arriving, I wheeled him into the boardroom where the pastors were assembled. After making introductions, I read a Psalm describing God’s love and compassion for the world. We gathered around Elton’s wheelchair and took turns asking the Lord to provide divine strength and peace for Friday’s surgery.
One of the many ways that the Body of Christ is showing tangible love to Elton is by bringing meals to our home. Tonight’s spread was made for royalty: pork tenderloin, sautéed mushrooms, sweet potato, fresh baked croissants… and for dessert homemade apple crisp, ice cream, and fresh fruit salad. We feasted with great thanksgiving, not only for the food, but also for the privilege of having Elton with us.
